Your Mental Health: The Basics

You're Not Broken, You're Human.

Mental health is a huge part of being human, just like our physical health. It affects how we think, feel, cope, connect with others, and handle stress. Everyone has mental health, and everyone struggles sometimes. Especially teens!

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad, irritated, or emotionally all over the place doesn’t mean something is “wrong” with you. It means you’re navigating life, growth, relationships, pressure, and change… all at once.

This page is here to help you understand the basics, put words to common experiences, and remind you that you’re not alone.

Now here's a take on anxiety, depression, and mood swings... all common mental health struggles in teens and adolescents.

Anxiety is just your body responding to stress. It doesn't mean you are flawed.

And for many teens, emotions don’t always stay in one place. They can shift, spike, and settle in unexpected ways.

So, as you can see, mental health struggles are apart of life. But sometimes they do cross a line. You might want extra support if your mental health struggles:

  • Feels constant or never-ending

  • Start affecting sleep, school, or relationships

  • Make it hard to relax, focus, or feel like yourself

  • Feel heavy, confusing, or unmanageable

You don’t have to wait until things are “really bad” to take your feelings seriously.

A Gentle Reminder...

You don’t have to go through everything alone. You don’t have to have the “right words.”

And you don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support.

Mental health struggles don’t mean you’re broken, they mean you’re human.

And at The Support Hub, being human is always enough.
